Tiny Paintings

Same story as "Cut & Run" with these little paintings - just trying to keep up the momentum by creating work even though there's no deadline or outlet for the work. Those of you that are artists yourself know what I'm talking about here - it's not an easy task!

These are 4 small paintings 4 x 6 in - 7 x 5 in acrylic on wood panel - Blue and liquid in theme. You can also visit them here http://www.flickr.com/photos/kdenato/sets/72157627302374116/

"Cut & Run" 22x24 in Acrylic on wood panel

After an outpouring of work pretty much nonstop from Feb - May the prospect of a whole month without doing something with my busy fingers was just TOO scary! And so "Cut & Run" was born. It's not my most favoritest piece but I learned a lot while making it and got to explore some new techniques and color combinations. So while they can't all be hits - they all have relevance. And so I share it with you! To see more details view the album on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/kdenato/sets/72157627178835756/

January 2010 InStyle Magazine (since i missed it last Jan)

Well since I forgot to post this really cool project I was involved in last January I'ma post it in THIS January post :) This projects was for an interactive magazine for InStyle (project curators were Dorian Orange) My role was to storyboard the model's path and gestures for our shoot on a tiny treadmill (poor girls) and in front of a green screen which would later be filled in virtually with my illustrations and made "3D" by DO's brilliant animators and programmers. I'm posting two examples of what the end result was and a few images of the BETA of what the actual interactive magazine would look like!
